Tonight, we had the best time we have had in a looong time!

As A-MAZING was the carnation shower Eleni got! O-M-G, you haven't seen anything quite like it!
I was a bit shocked myself - imagine!

 Another reason it was a great day:
My amazing friend Natasha was going to help me get 2 respondents
for my research and I.. ended up with 7! Absolutely a-dorable
I am grateful!

Such-amazing-friends.

Last night

Athens downtown is pumping.
It's cold, but fabulous.
The Greeks have always been conscious of the meaning of life, if you ask me.
Yes, there is a recession.
Yes, there is redundancy.
No, we're not gonna sit and cry.

Yes, it's Christmas time.
Yes, a walk downtown amidst hundreds of lights and glammed up trees on the streets is FOR FREE.
Yes, Greeks can have a good time just by getting a beer from the periptero (kiosk) and sitting on the sidewalk watching the congested streets and consumers' shopping bags, like reverse flâneurs.
Yes, the recession could go on for as long as 3 years. I am not gonna cross three years off my life because of stupid economics.
BREATHE. 

High spirits night, last night. Two of my proud-to-have-uttered quotes:

"I wish for a Big Prince in 2012. I read the Little one, didn't do much."

"Yeap, the best is yet to come. And if it ain't comin', I'm goin' to get it myself."

(I was stupefied by the size-of-the-moon pizza I had had, "Diavola"->you know, trying to keep lean.)

To refresh your memory,

...I am currently writing my thesis project on Packaging Design.
It is a beauty.
(The process, at least.)

Interesting how my supervisor has sent me
a "model" thesis of one of her students that
was a top-rated one (on another subject).

Funny how I see that this student has spent
50 pages rambling on about all types of
research methods and their strategies,
just to pick two at the end.

Amazing-not-quite how I will freak out
if I wake up on the 30th of January
(day before thesis submission deadline)
and decide that I had better do exactly
what she did, JUST BECAUSE.

Call me big-headed, I just don't like coming second
(when I know I can do better).

In the words of Homer (the ancient Greek poet) :

Last year my New Year's Day song was...

I remember dancing to it in the dark.

It was about 3 or 4 am.
I hadn't decided whether I was going to go out later, so
I was just dancing.
Didn't care.
Waltzing myself to the song.

Then I put on  my dress and went out.

I'll tell you what this Christmas was like.
It was more family and more laughs.
More gifts and more food.
More joy and more winks.
It was a beauty.

Today we all had lunch at my aunt and uncle's house.
Everything was oversized: the table set, our plates,
the stories and -utlimately- our bellies! ;p

I am so glad we all gathered around the table and
listened to each other -saying ANYthing.
We were to-gather!

Funny I noticed how now adults discuss about
treatments and painkillers and effective medication
and what foods to avoid and when they are getting
their pension.. they have grown up ;)

We all have, then.

I hope Santa makes it in time for everyone, by the end of the year.
